The core component of the ultraviolet air sterilizer is the ultraviolet lamp. Humans have used ultraviolet light for more than 70 years. When microbes absorb C-band ultraviolet rays, they cause a photochemical reaction in the microbial cells, and the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) in the cell nucleus will be destroyed, causing the cell to immediately die or lose its ability to reproduce (the virus is inactivated).
